Our aim is to journey with you as we seek to glorify God in health ministries. Over our own journey in Africa and Asia, we have learned so much, especially through hardship, with the help of local people. We have been encouraged by God’s words to Paul during his own affliction: “‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” (Romans 12:9). In these blog post we hope you will find a fresh approach, as we are concerned about both the prevention and alleviation of suffering through global health.
We gave this blog-site the name “Heal the brokenhearted,” from God’s charge to His Anointed One in the book of Isaiah chapter 61:
“Because the LORD anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners..”
Our aim as followers of this Anointed one is to allow Him to work through us to bind up the brokenhearted. Brokenness can be physical, emotional, relational. At the core it is spiritual. Let’s explore together what this may mean across cultures and language groups around the world in the 21st century.
We welcome your reactions. As we foster community we learn from one another, especially those different from ourselves. Welcome!
Thank you for your work.
